Short Biography: 

Roberto Baldoni is a full professor in the field of Distributed Systems at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" where he leads the Distributed Systems group and the MIDdleware LABoratory (MIDLAB). He has been recently the coordinator person of the EU project SM4ALL on networked embedded systems, the Tecnical co-chair of the EU project CoMiFin on the protection of the financial infrastructure and member of the Executive Board of RESIST, the EU network of Excellence on Security and Dependability. In the area of egov he has been one of the leading persons of the definition of the next generation systems for italian e-government (Servizio Pubblico di Cooperazione), the PI of several EU projects on the topic.

He is the vice-Chair of the IEEE technical Committee on Fault Tolerant and Dependable Systems. He will be the IEEE TDFT Committee Chair for the biennium 2013-2014. Roberto Baldoni is a member of the IFIP WG 10.4 and of the steering committees of ACM DEBS and DSN Conferences. Roberto Baldoni is also a member of the Editorial Board of IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems.

looking mainly at security and dependability aspects.
