ITA-SEC 2018: Milan, February 6-9, 2018

The 2018 edition of the Italian Conference on Cybersecurity ITASEC, organized by CINI's National Laboratory on Cyber Security, will kick-off in a few days. The conference will take place within Politecnico di Milano's premises from February 6th to 9th, 2018.

Similarly to the previous edition, ITASEC18 represents the major  meeting event for the cybersecurity community of researchers and professionals coming from the academia, industry and government institutions. It will host important institutional speakers. The conference program includes 16 scientific sessions on several themes like e-voting, privacy and malware, a special session devoted to quantum cryptography, a talk from the EU commission and 7 focussed meetings on  cybercrime, GDPR, Industry 4.0, the future of cybersecurity. Finally, 9 tutorials are programmed on topics like blockchain, cryptography, security in ICS.

The conference is structured with a main track, science and technology for IT security, a focussed track, named  "fil rouge", and includes a series of multidisciplinary sessions and meetings devoted to economic and political aspects linked to cybersecurity.

This event also hosts a track dedicated to demos and prototypes developed by the industry, research centers and universities as well as special sessions on national start-ups and on the hacking community.

The fil rouge track theme for this year is "Cyber conflicts: strategic, tactical, political and legal aspects".

The conference will be opened on February 6th by the presentation of white book "The future of cybersecurity in Italy: strategic projects" edited by Prof. Roberto Baldoni (director of the National Laboratory on Cyber Security), Prof. Rocco De Nicola (IMT di Lucca) and Prof. Paolo Prinetto (Politecnico di Torino, and CINI president).

On February 7th, on. Marco Minniti,  Minister of the Interior, will deliver a speech on the current state of the art of cybersecurity in Italy.

Roberta Pinotti, Minister of Defence, on February 8th will speak on the strategic collaboration among research, defence and cybersecurity.
